Once I left Beaumont it made me really appreciate that there’s no other place like your city. Other people were playing basketball and baseball. Instead of saying to my parents like: ‘hey he knows what he wants to do! You should water this plant’, she was actually like trying to see what the hell was going on in my house. And I wrote about how I just learned how to chop and screw music the day before. My class was asked to write down what we were passionate about or something like that. I started mixing around fourth grade, I remember because my teacher wrote a letter home to my parents about it. He showed me how to DJ, now he’s kinda like my booking manager. Your dad’s a DJ right? So you were surrounded by music from a very young age? I think that was like the first thing, unless you want to call turntables an instrument. Teezo: They have this thing called Sam’s Club everywhere in the US, it’s like this wholesale warehouse, but they have like a piano that sits in the middle of their store to test out. So it’s full circle.ĭo you remember the first instrument that you ever picked up? Teezo: I was going for Mass Communication, which is ironic because now I think I’m doing mass communication for sure with my art. But when they ask now I’m like: ‘I’m a full-time artist’. I was in school at the time because I thought it was what I was supposed to be doing, kind of something to tell my family on Thanksgiving when they ask what I’m up to, you know. In 2016 I decided to take it by the horns and really take this thing for what it is and just engulf myself in it. I think my first memory is music, so it’s always been there. Teezo: Oh, music has been a part of my life since as long as I can remember. But my timeline was really this: artist turn video director, turn artist. My origin story came so in the moment that I didn’t really get to track it. He’s what you would call a trial and error artist. We caught up with the artist to find out more and talk Texas, tunes, and Willy Ts.Ĭan you tell us how Teezo Touchdown came to be? But his cowboy-hat-wearing, lolly-pop sucking alter-ego, Eugenius Hanes, who pops up in Teezo’s video skits from time to time, takes credit for a lot of the creativity: “Teezo’s like an empty glass you know? He just waits for me to come in and I flood him with the ideas,” he says in a recent clip.ĭespite his prolific output, and the fact that he now has support from the likes of Tyler, The Creator, Lil Nas X, and Chance the Rapper, much about Teezo Touchdown remains shrouded in mystery, including his real name. Teezo is a natural when it comes to melodic hooks, and has a truly unique ear for harmony, with most of his tracks featuring deliciously layered vocals. Despite the setting, each visual (directed by the multitalented Teezo) bursts with the vibrancy of his extravagant clothing (think Prince and Rick James with glitter-smeared arms and nail-studded hair) and the bright notes of his melodic 80s-inspired rap ballads. 2019 saw the release of his first single “Slice” but it was his July 2020 follow up, “Strong Friend” – an infectious emo-pop ode to companionship – that proved to be the first significant step on his journey to the top.Ī stream of singles quickly followed in the months after, including the mellow “Careful”, and the heavier, punk-rap “SUCKA!”, each accompanied with a video shot in front of a rusty, graffiti-covered, garage somewhere in Beaumont. “Don’t worry, you’re early”, reads the Instagram tagline of Teezo Touchdown, the Texan artist who wants to let you know he’s destined for superstardom. Though the song was quickly deleted from Soundcloud, (as various re-uploads have been since) fans are able to listen to a snippet of the new song on Aphex Twin’s official Deezer here, and find the full track list of the teased LP below:Ġ4. Previously, Eli was seen as a baby in the season 9 episode of SVU, “Paternity,” when Kathy gives birth to him under duress after she and Benson get into a car accident. In a heartbreaking moment, audiences finally meet a teenage Eli ( Nicky Torchia), the youngest of Stabler and Kathy’s five kids following Maureen, Kathleen, Elizabeth and Richard, during an intimate funeral service also attended by Benson. Once again, they try to mend things, but Stabler is pulled away by her son before they can address any unresolved feelings. However, he quickly returns to his antagonistic ways, putting him at odds with former partner and making for a rocky reunion.Įnding with the Organized Crime premiere “What Happens in Puglia,” the perspective shifts from Benson to Stabler, whose need for answers ruffles feathers with everyone on the force he encounters. While SVU is called off the case, Benson continues to help Stabler as he gets settled back into Manhattan detective work as he tries to find Kathy’s killer. “I give you my word: I’ll behave,” Stabler tells Benson before being allowed in to interrogate a suspect at one point. While Benson is trying to put all the pieces together, the SVU squad wastes no time diving head first into solving the case. It doesn’t take long, however, for Stabler to challenge the unit, which has evolved quite a bit since his departure a decade prior. Before she has time to process, she hears Benson call out to her, “Liv,” as she turns around to see her former partner standing amid the chaos. It turns out Kathy is the victim of an attempted murder during a failed bombing attempt of her rental car.īenson quickly learns from Fin Tutuola ( Ice-T) that Stabler has been working as part of a special task force in Rome, Italy. In the crossover event, which started with the SVU season 22 episode “Return of the Prodigal Son,” Benson is responding to a call when she notices Kathy in a stretcher, being put into an ambulance. In the 10 seasons that followed, Benson was eventually promoted from detective to captain of the SVU squad while her personal life saw her adopt Noah Porter among many, many other notable events in her life on the force. Despite being reassured that he would be cleared, the NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau decided to review his “entire jacket.” It’s revealed in the season 13 premiere that he abruptly retired from the force, leaving Benson to carry on without him. In the season 12 finale, Stabler is last seen standing over a young rape victim whom he shot and killed after she attempted to open fire in the squad room. Are there any advantages to reading exported Logos books on a Kindle device versus a 10.5" iPad Pro? I love my iPad Pro, and it does an excellent job for reading, as well as for getting some work done on the go (where I haven't needed to carry a notebook with me most places now). What would be a recommended Kindle device model for reading exported Logos books and for intensive, long-term reading?Ħ. What would be the easiest way to get Logos books (or other non-Kindle format books) onto a Kindle device? Would PDF be the best route to go? I would probably need to send book files to the Kindle in batches (possibly per-chapter) to work around copyright restrictions.Ģ. I also know that the "Send to Kindle" feature introduced in Logos 6 was decommissioned a while back.ġ. I purchase some books in Kindle format, but the bulk of my Bible study books are in Logos or other Bible software formats, plus I've also purchased some books in Apple Books format, which Kindle obviously cannot natively read due to DRM and the different formats. However, the reviews had me begin thinking about Kindle devices in general, and if there would be any advantages to me getting a Kindle device for extensive reading. I currently do the bulk of my Logos reading on my 10.5" iPad Pro or my iMac Pro (for more in-depth studying), occasionally reading on my iPhone SE when on the go. Note that latency can be present in both MIDI and audio, and whether your connections are DIN cables, audio cables, or USB. The audio goes out to a mixer, into a patchbay, and then into a first-generation Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 on inputs 1 and 2. First, we’ll use a Behringer Crave controlled by MIDI over USB. Now that we have things optimized for latency as best we can, let’s get some hardware involved and try recording some MIDI and then audio. While this inconsistency is part of its charm, it can also be a major headache. Hardware – particularly old hardware – is not very precise at all. Additionally, different pieces of equipment introduce varying amounts of lag. It takes time for audio to be changed into digital for use in the computer, and then back into audio for playback on speakers and headphones. However, once you start bringing outside audio and MIDI into this environment is where things get tricky. For the end-user, we don’t experience any lag at all as the DAW adjusts everything for us. The DAW delays all your tracks by the amount of time it takes to perform this function, ensuring everything stays in time. Limiter lookahead, for example, isn’t accomplished by magically seeing into the future. Some are very small, while others, like limiters, add quite a bit. Plugins all have differing amounts of latency that they add to a signal. Also called lag, latency is “the time it takes for (a) signal to enter the computer, then travel through the software and back out through your speakers or headphones,” according to Ableton. I have personally used Delta over the past year and have seen the experience improve tremendously. Fees are steeper than most other platforms, but the convenience of a smooth mobile application may be worth your while.įinally, an exchange to watch is Delta Exchange. If you prefer to trade on your mobile phone, ByBit is the way to go. If you are trading in the Asian session (when that part of the world is awake), this might be the place for you. The second largest exchange globally by volume has fees comparable to Binance. In the Asian demographic, OKX (formerly known as OKEx) is dominant. As one of the newer exchanges on the block, they have quickly risen to become a major player. Additionally, Binance is known for relatively low fees, which can save you lots of money in the long run, especially when trading with leverage.Īnother great exchange for leverage trading is FTX. This is great because it allows you to capitalize on endless opportunities. Firstly, Binance offers an incredibly wide range of tokens. Our first pick for leverage trading is Binance, for two reasons. I’ll briefly cover a few exchanges I think are excellent and highlight some key differences between the two. With hundreds of leverage trading platforms out there, it can be daunting to select the exchange for you. Let’s assume you are ready to trade with leverage, what are the best platforms to do this? Best Crypto Leverage Trading Platforms If used by inexperienced traders, leverage can wipe out your entire portfolio in mere minutes. In essence, leverage can be a great tool to add to your portfolio, but only after you have demonstrated a solid understanding of risk management, and some track record in spot trading. Yet, you still get all the benefits of leverage: increased position size and profit potential. With a proper stop loss, you can eliminate the liquidation risk and put a hard cap on the maximum amount you can possibly lose. I believe leverage is amazing, so long as you know how to manage your risk. So, what’s the better deal? As with many other things in trading, it depends both on the situation and the trader. If you don't have any of the above options at hand, use your drip coffee maker, but double the amount of coffee you'd regularly used per cup and be sure to have a strong roast when making espresso for this recipe. You'd need to buy high-quality finely ground dark roast coffee, and a heaping tablespoon of it is advised per each cup of water. In a separate container, froth the milk and then pour into mug. The resulting coffee is smooth and lower in acidity, as advertised by the manufacturers, and can make an espresso shot in less than a minute. Pour vanilla syrup into the bottom of your mug. The coffee and hot water sit in one chamber, and they're pressed directly into your mug by pushing down by hand. The fancy Aeropress: These are similar in price to well-known brands of French presses. For this method, you'l need at least two tablespoons of strong coffee per cup of water. A true caramel macchiato is made with espresso, a special technique used to prepare coffee. The strength of the resulting coffee depends on the type of coffee you're using. By pressing hot water and coffee that have been steeping in the same chamber for a few minutes, you obtain a beautifully dark cup of joe. I use a single serve blender for a Blended Caramel Macchiato, if you want a hot. The useful French press: With this elegant device that's available in all price ranges, you can make a great strong coffee. (1 shot is 1 oz- this recipe calls for 2 full ounces of Starbucks espresso). For this method, you'd need at least two tablespoons of strong coffee per 1/2 cup of water. This coffee is stronger than drip coffee, and the stronger the roast and the bigger the amount of coffee that you use per cup of water, the darker the resulting coffee will be. By heating the water at the bottom, pressure makes it go up to the coffee chamber where it mixes with the finely ground coffee and ultimately travels to the empty chamber on top. Create a cross hatch of caramel sauce on top of. The classic Italian Moka: This beautifully designed coffee maker has three chambers: the bottom is filled with water, the medium chamber holds coffee grounds, and the upper chamber is where the resulting strong coffee will end up. Add the syrup, extract and espresso to the bottom of a serving glass and then top with the hot collagen milk.Finish it off with a generous drizzle of. Next slowly pour the espresso shot over the milk, creating a layered effect. Pour the milk over the ice and vanilla syrup. Fill a tall glass with ice, add vanilla syrup. Then, froth it together with the salted caramel sauces. 3 4 Tablespoons Caramel Sauce to the drink. Heat the milk on a saucepan until it comes to almost a boil. We wish the answer would be as simple as "all you need is water and coffee," but to achieve the closest thing to an espresso you do need one of three appliances-which luckily are not as expensive as an espresso machine: Copycat Starbucks Caramel Macchiato, Iced Version. To get to the part of the park where you can drive on the beach, continue on Park Road 22 (the main paved road) until the pavement ends. If you have a high-clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicle, exploring the island’s most remote areas by car is a uniquely thrilling experience. You can take your own kayak or canoe, or rent one from the park’s concessionaire. One of just a few hypersaline lagoons in the world, the Laguna Madre offers great kayaking and canoeing opportunities. Or go beachcombing along the seashore-there are always treasures to be found here. Is there anything better than a leisurely hike or bike ride along the ocean’s edge? Bring your bicycle and ride it along South Beach, where you’ll likely have most of the shores to yourself (depending on how far down you go). Visitors may fish along the entire length of the Gulf, in the Laguna Madre, and at Bird Island Basin and Yarborough Pass. To fish anywhere in the park, you must have a valid Texas fishing license and a saltwater stamp, both of which you can acquire outside of the park at a local tackle shop or gas station. Call the Malaquite Visitor Center (36) to schedule a tour with a volunteer birding guide. There have been more than 380 species of birds sighted at the park, which represents nearly half of all the documented bird species in North America. Padre Island is an important destination for migratory birds, and as such, it’s an exceptional place for birdwatching. (Because the park can’t predict when a sea turtle will hatch, check their Current Nesting Season page and the Sea Turtle Program Facebook page for up-to-date info on releases.) Most hatchling releases occur from mid-June through August. During the summer, staff members release sea turtle hatchlings from nests laid in the park and along the coast, and visitors can sometimes catch these if the timing is right. Since 1978, the park has been a participant in the effort to save the Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. Never swim alone and always use extreme caution when swimming currents can be strong. Visitors can swim in the recreation area at Bird Island Basin or in the Gulf, but do note that there are no lifeguards on duty. There was a marquee set up, food was plentiful and drinks flowed. The England captain had not spared any expense. In the evening, the Australian cricketers left the premises of their shabby Dudley Hotel and made their way to the party Greig was hosting in his Brighton home. Now it was his turn to return the favour. He had even penned a ‘Thank you Melbourne’ letter for the Age. Greig had left the Centenary Test in garlands, lavished with fellowship and all assortments of bonhomie and goodwill. The traditional form of the game could not have been celebrated in a better manner. Australia had won by 45 runs, a curious, irresistibly poetic, recurrence of the margin of victory of the very first Test match a hundred years earlier. In front of a glittering array of Ashes luminaries from eras stretching back to the First World War, the two teams had contested one of the greatest Test matches ever. Tony Greig, the charismatic captain of England, had enjoyed incredible hospitality at Melbourne a couple of months earlier when he had taken his side to play the Centenary Test match. However, the intense excitement lay elsewhere. The players dashed off, the score reading 35 for 1. Snow just had sufficient time to send the off-stump of Davis cartwheeling. The clouds that threatened since the morning released the downpour within an hour. No one expected the cricket to go on for long. Australia would bat, Sussex would bowl, and one could spot the tall frame of John Snow limbering up as Craig Serjeant and Ian Davis prepared to go out and open the innings. Especially with the grey clouds hovering over the seaside town of Hove as Greg Chappell won the spin of the coin against Tony Greig. It appeared to be just another early tour match for Australia. |
